Join
us as we welcome Gwen Weaver and
her "Pointed Pen Personalities" from
Virginia Beach, Virginia for the 26th annual All Oregon Calligraphers
Conference.
"Although I have
been trained in the broad-edged pen, I've fallen completely and desperately
in love with the pointed pen. I attended a six-week class at the Smithsonian
Museum in Washington, DC in 1982 and the rest is history!"
Gwen has been teaching pointed pen personalities all
across the US and Canada for many years starting in the mid 80s. She
loves traveling and meeting so many fascinating calligraphers and artists.
She taught at the Boston Conference in 2001, Legacies in 2005 and Letterforum
in 2006.
Gwen has been welcomed as a presenter at IAMPETH – the
pointy pen people – for many years and this wonderful group of
Master Pen People is open to all of Gwen's "different" stuff – Weaver
Writing, Romantically Roman, Copperplate and even Celtic Knots!
With work exhibited at many of the
International Conferences and at other venues including The National
Cathedral in Washington, DC, The Graceful Envelope, The Days of the Handmade
Book, Alpha-Mark, Visual Voices, the Newberry Library, Strathmore Hall,
the Donnell Library and others, Gwen is fully immersed in the national
calligraphic scene. You'll find Gwen published in Letter Arts Review,
Glen's Calendars, Bound and Lettered, Somerset Magazine, The Art and
Craft of Hand Lettering, Scripsit and many other guild presentations.
We hope you will join us for an action-packed
day. See you in October!
